Our attractive retail shop is well stocked with new and used shotguns, rifles and air rifles, country clothing, shooting accessories, best leather goods and other shooting related products. Alongside our retail shop we have full workshop facilities where our time served gunmaker carries out servicing, repair and renovation work.

Carl Russell became interested in guns at an early working weekends and school holidays at a local shooting ground. He then spent six years as an apprentice mastering the art of gunmaking. In 2005, now a time served gunmaker, Carl was employed by Atkin Grant & Lang as foreman and jobber/finisher. In 2014 Carl set up his own business, the now recognised Carl Russell and Co Gunmakers Ltd. Whilst building a good reputation amongst the shooting community for his services in the trade one of the major accomplishments must include the first Carl Russell & Co gun, commissioned in 2015 and due for completion in early 2017. With a specialist knowledge of English shotguns, and in the workshop a wealth of experience at finishing guns, Carl is able to help you with any enquiry you may have. Carl claims not to have any free time but when he does he enjoys eating out, weekends away and walking his dog Bo.

Ken Duglan is a partner in the company, and hosts both the game and simulated shoot days throughout the year. When found in the shop Ken can impart some of his extensive knowledge of guns with you  and answer any questions you may have. An expert in antique firearms  and avid collector of flintlocks. Ken worked at Atkin Grant & Lang in London in the early 70’s and one of his biggest achievements in the industry was being able to buy the company in mid 90’s. An excellent salesman, Ken isn’t ready to retire and enjoys helping customers at the Carl Russell and Co shop to the make right purchase. Ken enjoys taking part in game shooting throughout the season.

Sian Duglan is the company secretary at Carl Russell and Co, and takes care of accounts and product buying. In charge of retail, Sian will be on hand to offer you help with any clothing and fashion decisions and answer customer service enquiries via email, in store or over the phone. Sian grew up surrounded by shooting and enjoys days out in the season with Ken. She has a black lab pup Bo who she is training to be a gun dog.

Olivia Berry takes care of the digital side of the business, and looks after the online presence, design and marketing. First becoming interested in shooting after being invited to photograph at a friend’s shoot in Hampshire, and now enjoys taking part as a beater at local shoots during days off in the winter. Olivia studied Photography at Hertfordshire University, graduating with a first class BA(Hons) degree in 2014. Whilst in store Olivia can advise you on countryside fashion and assist with customer service enquiries via email, in store or over the phone. In her spare time Olivia enjoys riding her pony Bonnie, cookery and rearing her own pigs.

Bo is the Carl Russell & Co shop dog. Owned and spoilt by Carl and Sian, Bo spends her days being a distraction in the workshop and greeting all her fans/customers with playful joy. Bo is a black Labrador and is a gun dog… in training!
