Charity shoot raising money for Diabetes UK
Posted on 2nd July 2019
On Friday 28th June we hosted a Simulated Game Day in aid of Diabetes UK. A few months back a customer kindly asked us to host an event to help him raise money for the charity and we were thrilled to help him with this.
The event went very well and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day. The format for the event began with everyone meeting at the lodge for breakfast at 9am on the Friday morning where many people were able to see familiar faces that they had perhaps not seen for a while and catch up with one and other, along with meeting some new friends too. After breakfast was finished we headed to the first two drives, one located around a pond and one on the edge of a woodland setting before heading back to the lodge for light refreshments. The afternoon consisted of three more drives, one of which proved some challenging targets for our experienced shots and lots of competitive cheer was had creating a fantastic atmosphere. The weather was absolutely beautiful, reaching high 20’s in the afternoon and I think we all welcomed the cool shade of the woodland drive to end the shooting for the day.
Back to the lodge where guests enjoyed a three course meal followed by an auction to raise money for the Diabetes UK Charity. We had lots kindly donated from many people, including Musto, TEG, Kimpton Hotel in Edinburgh and the Whitbread Estate in Bedfordshire along with many other generous donations. We are pleased to announce that the day raised £3,810 for Diabetes UK.
Thank you to everyone who attended the day and donated to the charity.
