Phew!! After months of hard work our new store is now open and we look forward to seeing you all here.
Our opening weekend of the Easter Bank Holiday in April went off well, with gorgeous sunny skies and lots of new and old faces coming in to visit us. There is a lot to update you all with, so as a fear of being boring we shall keep this short and hopefully include all the important info that will be of interest to you.
But firstly we must thank everyone who entered both our raffles throughout the Easter weekend. The raffle, raising money for the Keech Cottage Hospice raised £85 and congratulations to the lovely lady who won the Hotel Chocolate easter collection box, I’m sure they have been eaten and enjoyed by you and all your family! Our other give-away for the weekend was a beautiful Fairfax and Favour Handbag, congratulations to Charlotte who won, I know she was over the moon with this!
The gunroom has now expanded and we have over 200 shotguns, rifles and air rifles on display. Our new member of the team Jack (above left) will often be found in the gunroom and is knowledgeable on many aspects of shooting, his specialist area is air rifles, so if you have any questions about them, he is your man! Carl and Olivia are also always on hand to help with any shooting related enquiries. Carl, often found in the workshop is currently working on several new builds along with the repairs, restoration and alteration projects for customers. We shall do a dedicated blog post on the new builds soon as they certainly require lots of detail and some good photos too, so keep your eyes pealed for this in the coming weeks.
Finally getting around to the country clothing and lifestyle store! This beautiful building took a little restoration work over the past few months. The building used to be the old Hatfield House stables, we have tried to retain as many original features as possible, and we have added some history to the walls to highlight some interesting points. Under the windows you will find information about the horses that were stabled here, you can see the stall railings that would have divided the horses up and we have some images found in the archives of what the stable yard would have looked like in 1900.
We hope you enjoy look around the store when you get the chance to visit and see all these beautiful features.
The country clothing store stocks a wide range of both ladies and gents country clothing, accessories and footwear. Olivia, Sian and Caitlyn will be on hand to help you with your country clothing needs. Popular new lines include Fairfax and Favor for the ladies footwear and handbags, Annabel Brocks sweatshirts and ponchos have been very popular and we have almost sold out now, so hurry down if you would like one of these! For the men, RM Williams clothing and footwear has proved very popular alongside Loake shoes and our extensive range of Barbour clothing too. Schoffel gilets continue to fly off the shelves all year round, we now have in stock several new colours, including the gorgeous Slate Blue for both ladies and gents.
Each month we are getting deliveries of new products from a wide range of brands and we will keep you posted as new deliveries arrive. The best place to find out about our latest arrivals is on our Instagram and Facebook pages, so make sure you give both a follow! We will also be giving away a pair of RM Williams boots soon so that will be a good one to enter for everyone (fancy treating dad to a pair of those on Fathers Day!!)
That leads nicely onto my final mention; Fathers Day! It’s coming around quickly. We have lots of great gift ideas, my personal favourite is the Billy Belts range of products which are now available in store. These great belts are available in a range of bright colours, beautifully presented in their own individual bag. From this brand we also stock wallets, card holders and socks, all great gifts for your Dad!
